Description/Blazon
A shield-shaped embroidered item with a semicircular base 2 1/4 inches (5.72cm) in height and 1 7/8 inches (4.76cm) in width, consisting of a bottle green base bearing two 3/16 inch (.48cm) bands from upper left to lower right, yellow above purple, edged with a 1/8 inch (.32cm) white border. The beret flash was originally approved for the U.S. Army Reserve Special Operations Command on 31 Jul 1990. It was redesignated for Civil Affairs and Psychological Operations Command (Airborne) on 19 Dec 1990.

The background trimming was originally approved for the U.S. Army Reserve Special Operations Command on 31 Jul 1990.
